A CAT scan from Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital shows the head of a 23-month-old toddler injured in the nail bomb explosion in Brixton. A four-inch nail was embedded in his brain after it went through his left temple. Doctors at the hospital expected the youngster to make a full recovery and to have only a faint scar on his left temple to show for his ordeal.
Source: The Guardian [2] is our source. The image was made available to the Guardian by the Press Association.
Copyright: The image was taken by the Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in London, which is run by the National Health Service, so the ultimate copyright holder is probably the British government.
Rationale: The image has become iconic. There is no free-license equivalent, and it has no commercial value that is affected by our use of it. It is being used to illustrate the article about the bomber, David Copeland who caused the injury to the child.
