[edit] Start Class

I see that the article was rated as a "Start" class. It would be useful to know what areas need expansion or work on to make this article better. --Kimon 16:11, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Suggestions for improvements to start with:-
  • Nationality in the opening paragraph, more about his early years.
  • There is a lot of information on the article, looks more like a bio-data. We need to put in the form as per WP:BIO. STTW (talk) 18:34, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion worthy?

So, because someone disagrees with a single statement (from various sources) the whole article needs to be deleted? Explain to me please.
--Kimon 01:07, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

I removed the deletion tag. It seems that the artist is notable. In any case, if somebody wants to delete the article, I think an AfD fits better here. I rephrased the first paragraph, in order to be less POV, but, of course, the article still needs a lot of work. I rated as start.

No, bcz someone finds inadequate evidence of notability. See the AfD on him for the relevance of that "single statement".

[edit] NPOV

As the principal author of the article I'm not the best to judge whether this article is NPOV or not so, I would kindly request someone to rephrase whatever is needed. To address the statement "eminent figure in the international art scene of the 20th century" I'm posting my citations below:

  • ...il s'est situé entre Goya et Picasso: Il est en bref "L'oeil du XXe siécle".

...he is placed between Goya and Picasso: He is, in brief, "The eye of the 20th century"

Michel Bourgeois in (1984) ANDREOU (in French). Paris, France: Les Editions du Temps.

When critics globally salute Andreou as one of the most original sculptors of our time, it's natural that his painting will receive the same consensus

    J. Goldman in (1984) ANDREOU (in French). Paris, France: Les Editions du Temps.
  • Ο τώπος έχει γράψει επανειλλημένως ότι υπολογίζεται ως ένας από τους πιο σημαντικούς καλλιτέχνες του αιώνα μας.

The press has repeatedly reported that he is regarded amongst the most important artists of our century.

J.P. Langlois, introduction - (1997) Femme Femmes, peintures. Athens, Greece: G. Giannoussis.
  • Ο Ανδρέου χαρακτηρίστηκε ως ένας από τους πιο σημαντικούς γλύπτες του 20ου αιώνα.

Andreou has been characterized as one of the most important scultptors of the 20th century.

Statement by the Board of Directors of the Teloglion Art Foundation, pg. 8 - (2004) ανδρέου (in Greek). Thessaloniki, Greece: Teloglion Art Foundation, AUT. ISBN 960-87805-1-9.

I hope the above helps.

Reading Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Constantine Andreou, there appears to be more than just that single statement that needs work.

Thanks for the help of anyone that volunteers. --Kimon 02:36, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Death?

It says on the French Wikipedia that he died. Could someone confirm this? ''[[User:Kitia|Kitia'']] 21:15, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

It was listed here too but no-one could come up with a reference. WWGB 22:13, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
The family issued a press release today to the press and I was able to get a copy. When a newspaper/newsite has the news, I'll add the reference and update the article. --Kimontalk 23:41, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
I re-added the information about his death with a reference. --Kimontalk 19:54, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
