Talk:Consortium

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A cooperative arrangement among groups or institutions: a library consortium

[edit] Word origin first

I personally feel that the orgin of Consortium should not be in the opening sentence. Does anyone else think it would make more sense to put it at the end of the initial paragraphs? To me, the first sentence should tell you precisely what a consortium is, not where it came from. Gantry 15:35, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

Absolutely. Done. Nurg 23:49, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

I agree. Additionally it would be useful to make the difference with joint venture.

[edit] Terminology

I miss some terminology/vocabulary things... Like, what are called the consortium participants. What is called when you're choosed to win the prize? Etc. It helps when a non-native speaker is trying to write about this and doesn't know all terms. Normal general-purpose dictionaries rarely are useful for this purpose. Thanks. • Ekevu 14:04, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Legal

It should specify the relation between the consortium members and their liability from the the taxation and others point of view. It should also specify whether its mandatory to form a SPV or JV for the Consortioum. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.90.76.162 (talk) 11:18, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
