A confirmed kill was not used to estimate kills. A confirmed kill is something that is used primarily for snipers. Confirmed kills are kills that can be attributed directly to one person and that was witnessed by a sniper spotter or by some one in the rank of Sergeant or above.

Line infantrymen typically do not have confirmed kills because it is usually difficult to attribute kills to just one person during a fire fight. Confirmed kills are usually the realm of the sniper.
