Talk:Conan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The etymology of the name Conan is far from certain. It can be as easily equated to "lust"="conann" or proto-Celtic words relating to wolf or dog. MacBain's An Etymological Dictionary of the Gaelic Language (Scottish Gaelic)

I'm sure I remember reading about a Conan who was an astronomer to one of the Ptolemaic Pharaohs of Egypt. Perhaps he was a Gaulish or Galatian druid. Does anybody know more about this?
