Star Trek: Conquest is a video game set in the Star Trek fictional universe. The game features both turn-based strategy and real time strategy gameplay. It was developed by Scottish studio 4J Studios, which previously developed Star Trek: Encounters, and was published by Bethesda Softworks for the PlayStation 2 and Wii.

The game is set in the era of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, with players able to choose six groups and races: Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Cardassian, Dominion and Breen. These races are the main combatants of the Dominion War featured in Deep Space Nine.

[edit] Reception

Initial reviews were favourable with IGN describing the Wii version as "an interesting game to say the least" with a score of 6.8, but the Wii pricetag means that "only hardcore Trekkies and hardcore strategy fans need apply".[1] The PS2 version on the other hand received a review score of 8.0,[2] however, the PS2 is a press review and so the official review might change in the future.

The Star Trek and indeed gaming fan base has largely been unaware of this game.[1] Considering the previous experience of Bethesda as a publisher, the game's marketing has been non-existent and may be responsible for the low chartings of the game.
