[edit] Summary
In 1898, Walter L. Johnson sold a 60×100 lot to Architect Constantine Schubert on the south side of 85th Street between Eleventh and Twelfth avenues for $2,400. The Brooklyn Eagle reported that Schubert’s home cost $7,000 to build. Today, the home retains the shape of Schubert’s design, however the first-floor wraparound porch has been enclosed in red brick and the remainder of the home is now clad in grey brick, covering the original wooden shingles. Notice the “S" on the chimney.
