Converteam

Converteam is the power conversion company that formerly traded as Alstom Power Conversion. The company markets its products to four industries: Marine, Process Industries, Oil & Gas - Offshore, and Energy.
The company holds the rights to the successful Gem80 programmable logic controller range, along with the MV, GD and DC variable-speed drive ranges and the P-1200 SCADA package.
The engineers of Converteam have been building Dynamic Positioning systems for over 30 years.
The earliest DP systems were built by GEC Electrical Projects. Then due to name changes and company take overs the company became Cegelec (For History see entry under "GEC" in British Thomson-Houston) then Alstom and now Converteam.
