Continuous cooling transformation

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A continuous cooling transformation (often abbreviated CCT) phase diagram is often used when heat treating steel.[1] These diagrams are used to determine why types of phase changes will occur if a material is cooled at a certain rate. These diagrams are often more useful than TTT phase diagrams because it is more economical to cool materials at a certain rate then isothermally (where the material is kept at a specific temperature).
