Conquering the World III is a Sega Mega Drive role playing game. It is available in both traditional Chinese and simplified Chinese languages. The combat system (and some of the music) is derived from vintage Final Fantasy games such as Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy IV. The object of the game is to conquer all of ancient China (referred to in the game as the world). Because it was a homebrew game from China, it can be found exclusively on the Internet.

The player control three warriors who have the ability to cast magical spells on enemies like tigers, barbarians, and enemy leaders that can be learned from scrolls of fire in addition to other elements. At the start of the game, a dying man assigns the player the challenge of "conquering the world" and gains gold pieces and experience points by finding visible enemies (like in EarthBound or Chrono Trigger) and approaches them. There are no random encounters and weapons consists of swords, spears, and other melee weapons. The player can save absolutely anywhere in the game.
