Conotton Creek Trail

The Conotton Creek Trail is a rail trail in Ohio.
It runs for 11.4 miles (18.3 km) from Bowerston to Jewett in northern Harrison County.
The paved multi-use trail is suitable for biking, unicycling, roller-blading, wheel chairing, jogging and walking. It features six bridges, two of which (in Scio and Jewett) are covered.
The trail has 40 birdhouses to attract tree swallows and bluebirds.
One scenic overlook is completed and more are planned.
[edit] Stops on the trail
The Conotton Creek Trail has numerous rest stops, never more than a mile apart. Scio Park restrooms are open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and 8:30 am to 9:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. During the summer, porta-potties are placed along the trail. In 2006, the Ohio Department of Transportation funded a 16-by-40-foot facility central to the Trail to house concessions and rest rooms for trail users.[1]
In Scio, the midpoint of the trail (mile "6"), refreshments are available at commercial establishments, as well as in Jewett.
[edit] Trail management
The trail's right-of-way is owned by Harrison County. The trail is managed by a committee of trail advocates which meets monthly on the second Wednesday of each month from March to August. Everyone is welcome to attend the meetings. Management and fundraising is assisted by the Crossroads Resource Conservation and Development Council.
