Conny Vandenbos

Conny Vandenbos (The Hague, 16 January 1937 - Amsterdam, 7 April 2002) was a Dutch singer.
Conny Vandenbos was born as Jacoba Adriana Hollestelle in The Hague. She made her solo debut in the KRO-Springboard radio, in which she sang French chansons. After her performance in the Belgian Knokkefestival of 1961 towed them a record contract on hold. Also joined them in the first episode of the show-Rudi Carrell. In 1964 she was awarded an own television show.
In 1965 she represented Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest. With the song 't Is genoeg, she was eleventh. A year later there was the first hit, Ik ben gelukkig zonder jou. In 1974 she was signed to another record company and then they scored two big hits with my Roosje m'n roosje and Sjakie van de hoek.
In 1976 she received an Edison in a Golden Harp for the album Zo wil ik leven.
In 1993 she was awarded gold for her album 14 Grootste Hits Van Conny Vandenbos.
In the 1990s she presented radio programs, including Radio Radio North Sea and West.
In 2000 there was a tile of her placed in the Rotterdam Walk Of Fame.
Conny Vandenbos' first marriage was with Wim van den Bos who daughter Karin was born. Her second marriage was with the bass player of the trio Leedy Ger Faber who son Jeroen was born.
Conny Vandenbos died on 7 April 2002, two weeks after it was announced that she suffered from lung cancer.
