Confederate Action Party of Australia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Confederate Action Party of Australia was an Australian political party at the far right of the political spectrum. It appeared in the Queensland state election of 1992, but won only a small fraction of the vote and was unable to win any seats. It also contested the 1993 Australian federal election in a number of states, but collapsed later in the year, amid allegations of vote rigging and electoral fraud.

[edit] Policy

The Confederate Action Party was often accused of extremism and racism. It advocated the return of the death penalty, denial of all applications for political asylum, and the reintroduction of the use of convict labour. The party sometimes used the slogan, "WE ARE ONE AUSTRALIA - ONE NATION"[1]

The remnants of the party were part of the forces that joined as One Nation under disendorsed Liberal Pauline Hanson.
