Confederación Interamericana de Trabajadores was an international trade union confederation, founded in Lima, Peru, in 1948. It was founded on the initiative of AFL, as an alternative to the communist-led CTAL. In 1951 CIT was dissolved and substituted by ORIT, the regional branch of the ICFTU.[1]
