Concert on the Rock

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Concert on the Rock was an international rock festival that takes place annually in Nakatsu city, Ōita Prefecture, Japan. It is a charity event in aid of UNICEF that was established in 2004.

Since the first year, Concert on the Rock has grown into a two-day event that presents some of the best music Japan has to offer. J-Pop, rock, salsa, cumbia, reggae, punk, dance, nu jazz, traditional folk - you name it, this festival has it. Last year saw performances by artists from Ōita to Orlando, from Buzen to Birmingham. In its short lifetime, Concert on the Rock has become an important event on Kyūshū's international calendar.

Sadly, due to noise complaints over the past years, organizers have taken the decision to discontinue the event.
