[edit] Conservative creds

Exactly who decides who's conservative? 132.205.15.42 02:23, 6 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • I agree that it's a very loose definition that can be applied to most people from a certain point of view. Personally I'm quite convinced that the Tsarism of Konstantin Pobedonostsev, a firm belief in extreme feudalism, a police state and very limited civil liberties is no near the political opinions of the pro-hunting, Second Amendment-gun rights-fighting Ted Nugent, but apparently they are both conservatives, this when Pobedonostsev most probably would have had Nugent executed for being an "extreme leftist sympathiser" in his (Pobedonostsev's) opinion.

I suggest that we remove this category from wikipedia, as conservatism have very diverse meanings in different historical periods.

[edit] Category adding value?

Does this category add value?

It doesn't have many entrants?

[edit] Prussian Blue

The singers known as "Prussian Blue" may properly be labelled as "white nationalist" or "racialist" but otherwise are not appropriately listed under the category "Conservative". Inclusion here is either an attempt to link conservatives with racialism which is inconsistent with the overall Wiki philosophy of NPOV or an indication that the "editor" who has made the entry is ignorant of the import. Either way "Prussion Blue" should be removed from this category. LAWinans (talk) 17:24, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
