Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 is a forthcoming downloadable game developed by Backbone Entertainment for the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade service and Sony's PlayStation Network. It is designed to be a second sequel to Capcom's Commando arcade game, following Mercs, the game's title being a literal translation of the original game's Japanese title (Senjō no Ōkami).[1] [2]

[edit] SF2 HD Remix Beta

Players who purchase the Xbox Live Arcade version of Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 will receive the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix multiplayer beta. Ken and Ryu are playable characters and a single environment available to fight in. The beta is scheduled to run for eight weeks, the purpose of which is to test the network code behind online play.[3] The performance of Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting online was "sometimes-sluggish",[4] according to GameSpot's staff, who suggested the beta test was Capcom's attempt to avoid the situation occurring again.[3][4]

Team Xbox scored the title a 7/10 stating "Commando 3 definitely has its appeal, but a lot more could have been done to extend the gameplay or just make it feel more varied."[7] IGN gave the title a 5.9/10 stating "In a crowded field of throwback arcade shooters on XBLA, Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 just doesn’t stand out. "[5] OXM said "This three-player scrolling shooter has that old-school, spray-and-slay mojo that your inner rageaholic craves."[6]
