04-Jan-2008: The Wikimedia-Commons link "Template:Commonscat left" was created as a simple one-line form to show a Commonscat box to the left, allowing for changing the box width. It is kept very simple as a lightweight interface, in the simplistic style similar to quick webpages that don't show sub-boxes or mega-magazine page format. The template should be kept simple, for use in hundreds of Wikipedia articles. -Wikid77 (talk) 15:46, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Optional parameters for width/align

04-Jan-2008: The 2 parameters for "width=24em" or "align=right" are optional. Those parameters allow showing a Commonscat box along the right margin, but also changing the box-width for longer words/titles. That was a secondary, dual application, since the template was designed primarily for left-side display. -Wikid77 (talk) 15:46, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
