Figure 307 -- Perspective views of Crocker-Wheeler brush holder

  • This holder uses parallel leaf springs supporting the brush, so that brush position can be adjusted without tilting the brush relative to the commutator surface.
  • The carbon brushes are held securely in their box holders, so there are no sliding contacts in the path of the current passing through the carbon to the brush holder.
