The first Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships was held in Brisbane, Queensland, on 14 and 15 October 2006. The host was Taekwondo Australia Inc
The Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships are held every 4 years, in every year the Commonwealth games are held. It is sanctioned by the Commonwealth Committee and involves world class competitors making it a major event in Taekwondo.
