What are thoughts on people posting slang terms as definitions?
[edit] Hey Colorado avalanche
In response to your comment; unless it's a well known term, it'll most likely be deleted, so it's best not to bother unless you have lots of independent sources about how well known it is.
To make your posts easier to read, could you put a title on the line above? it makes it easier to read and it creates a contents box on the side so people can scroll to different sections in a particularly long talk page :). you can do it by putting ==your title here== on the line above. You can also sign your post by putting ~~~~ at the end of it, that way people know who's saying what.
Send me a message on my talk page if you need any further help or advice, and if you do want to create any articles i can proofread it for you to see if it's likely to be kept and what can be done to improve it. Happy editing! Ironholds (talk) 23:20, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- 1) By "those things" do you mean all the bits of style i told you about in my previous post? And no, i'm not an administrator; there are around 1,500 of them for about 7 MILLION users, so they're a bit overwhelmed. And yes, i can help you; ask any question you want and if i can, i'll answer it :). Ironholds (talk) 00:39, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
well. when you said that you put Colorado avalanche (talk) 00:45, 28 May 2008 (UTC) as your signature i thought that you put your username there instead of the Colorado avalanche (talk) 00:45, 28 May 2008 (UTC), is that right or no? oh yeaa and that other question about how you get those things on your page like "this user is......" or "this user supports.........."
Oh i get it nevermind about the 1st question.
[edit] your questions
oh ok. The boxes you are looking for are called userboxes, and a set of lists can be found at Wikipedia:Userboxes. What sort of edits and contributions are you looking to make on wikipedia anyway? and i'd advise taking the "i want to be an admin" thing off the userpage; it may give the wrong impression considering you've only been around for a couple of days. Ironholds (talk) 00:57, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
oh. okkk. thanks.
once you find a box you like how do you put it on your page?
