I was born in the East Sussex village of Ticehurst, where I was brought up and went to the village Primary School, and later Wadhurst Secondary School (now known as Uplands Community College).

I moved just three miles down the road to Etchingham, where I have lived for over twenty years.

I have worked in gardening and building jobs, for seventeen years I was a Department manager in a large Supermarket. I am currently Assistant manager at the Etchingham Community Stores, a community owned village shop.

I try to take an active interest in the village, I am the Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator for the village, and am one of many co-ordinators involved in distributing Neighbourhood Watch information to local residents by e-mail. I created, and maintain the Etchingham village website, as well as sites for the Etchingham Community Storesand the Etchingham & Fontridge Cricket Club

[edit] Hobbies

I have always had an interest in collecting various philatelic items. Like most schoolboys, I started with a general stamp collection, later specialising in First Day Covers and more recently PHQ Cards. In recent years, I have stopped collecting every new issue of FDC & PHQ Cards, because of the ever rising cost of new sets of Commemorative Stamps. I now concentrate on collecting just those covers and cards with subjects that interest me, I also have a large collection of local postcards, not only Etchingham, but also the surrounding villages.

I have for many years been a keen photographer, and am usully to be found at most village events with camera in hand.
