[edit] Discussion

Any additional comments:
  • Isn't there some ambiguity in either title, though especially the latter? There is a Metropolitan Statistical Area defined for Columbus, Georgia (and the airport there is known as the Columbus Metropolitan Airport. olderwiser 14:36, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
    • Good point. I've changed the proposal; it's still listed on Requested Moves because it might be controversial. Nyttend 15:05, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Might I suggest another alteration, to Columbus Metropolitan Area (Ohio)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jwolfe (talkcontribs) 21:53, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Oppose Changing the name would make sense if the other page existed. Currently, there is no such page, thus no reason to move this one. It clearly explains at the beginning that it is centered on Columbus, Ohio. Perhaps if the page is created it can be discussed, but due to the fact that the population of the city in Georgia is dwarfed by the city in Ohio, there still wouldn't be a compelling reason to move this page to a different name.--Analogue Kid 00:15, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Analogue Kid, which name do you support: the current one or my original proposal? Nyttend 01:06, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
My apologies, didn't realize the name had changed from Columbus Metropolitan Area. That name is preferred, although I would take Metro Columbus over Columbus Metropolitan Area (Ohio). The only other city with the "Metro X" format I've found is Metro Detroit, which works fine since that's generally what it is referred to locally in that area. I hear Columbus Metropolitan Area more than anything around Columbus.--Analogue Kid 12:30, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
