Talk:Colossus of Nero
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Many experts believe that the name for the Colosseum is derived from this monument." Good heavens, what do the rest "believe"? --Wetman 04:16, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] False Link
The link to Zenodorus takes us to a genus of jumping spiders. Would suggest this be unlinked.Godingo 22:52, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Head
- After Nero's reign, the Emperor Vespasian renamed it as the sun-god Helios (Colossus Solis) because of his dislike for Nero. -- he not only renamed the statue, but replaced the head of the colossus as well.
