Discussion from User:RaveenS page regarding this article. Transfred to here.

Hello. Regarding your recent changes to several articles about the Sri Lanka conflict, please remember that it is necessary to keep those articles with a NPOV. Adding categories such as "terrorist" and "state terrorist" to them does not keep Wikipedia balanced. We ARE NOT trying to be pro-Sri Lankan government or pro-LTTE, but neutral. PBP 00:06, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

I disagree with that statement because I made those changes NOT JUST to Sri Lanka related articles but to articles regarding India, Indonesia and will be adding to the state terrorism category to actions of the Iraqi government Under Saddam against the Kurdish minority and more. If you have a point to make, the appropriate place to discuss the merits of State terrorism and terrorism is in the appropriate topics. I know about NPOV of Wikipedia and I don’t need to be lectured about it. Terrorism and State terrorism, holocaust, pogroms and genocide are topics that require utmost circumspect but not knee jerk reactions. RaveenS 12:34, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry if you thought I was "lecturing" you or if you thought I was singling out your Sri Lanka pages. I have several pages on Sri Lanka on my watchlist and those happened to be the ones that showed changes. My grievances were mainly toward the TamilEela Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal and Colonel Karuna articles, since it seems a little POV to be calling these things "terrorist" when no one (besides the LTTE) has designated the former or the latter as such. PBP 13:52, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

PBP, no problems I think you are wrong but we will leave it there. Once a terrorist is always a terrorist:-)) and his organisation is under conssideration by EU to be banned as a terrorist organisation and HR groups such as UTHR(J) have documented the murder of civilians and politicians by his group and UNHCR has accused him of recruiting by force under age kids. Now these are not traits of a normal human mind is it ? RaveenS 12:33, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Human rights violations section

The only mention of Karuna's group in the cited article is

In Jaffna, families of the missing said the occupants of the vans had been recently identifying themselves as members of a breakaway faction of the LTTE believed to be backed by the army.

but the article here states

Recently his group has been accused by Human Rights groups such as AHRC in the increasing involuntary disapperances of civilians in the Jaffna peninsula who are often assumed to be killed after their arrests without trial.[1]

I'm been nice here, so either cite reliable sources or I'll have to remove the text from this article. --snowolfD4( talk / @ ) 03:18, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for being kind but I intend to expand the section now that I have looked and found the follwing references

to include not just killer squad activity but also civilian killings and child recruitment. Thanks RaveenS 19:30, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] About removing biased text

I just reinserted a section that had been blanked with the summary "deleting POV / biased text". This is not in accordance with WP policies. WP:NPOV states: "The policy requires that, where there are or have been conflicting views, these should be presented fairly." However, I am not sure if the source is RS. If there is no reliable source for this section then it should be removed per WP:N and WP:V. — Sebastian 05:55, 9 March 2007 (UTC) WP:N)

I readded the association with the SLA of this page. This is backed up by RS and there is nothing this sentence that violates WP:Undue. The HR section only covers what Karuna himself has set up (Or rather allegations). Do not remove without full explanation and then consensus. Watchdogb 12:57, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
