Talk:College for Interdisciplinary Studies
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The College deserves to be kept as is unique in Canada, if not North America. Interdisciplinary research is popular in the United States (and just becoming so in Canada), but this College has been supporting interdisciplinarity for 49 years (under the aegis of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, until the College was created this year) - providing researchers from around the world the opportunity to come together from different disciplinaes and backgrounds to solve complex problems facing the world such as sustainability, human security, childhood health - problems that canot be solved within the confines of one single discipline.
