Columbia blue is a light blue tertiary color. The typical Columbia blue is defined by Pantone as Columbia Blue 3 (PANTONE 292).
[edit] Usage, symbolism, colloquial expressions
- Some fraternities and sororities also use Columbia blue for their colors, e.g. Delta Phi, Omega Tau Zeta, Acacia, Lambda Kappa Sigma.
- Columbia blue is used as one of the two or three color symbols for colleges and universities such as Spelman College, Creighton University, Columbia University, University of San Diego and Johns Hopkins University.
- The Tampa Bay Rays selected Columbia blue as one of its three color symbols in September 2007. The color is used in the team's logos, uniforms and official merchandise.
