Colm Parkinson, from Meelick, Portlaoise was born in 1979. He went to school in Portlaoise at the local Christian Brothers School.
[edit] GAA Career
Parkinson plays club football for Portlaoise and is also a member of the Laois senior team.
In 1996 Parkinson was part of the Laois team which won the county's first ever All-Ireland Minor Football Championship.
In 1998 Parkinson played for the Laois Under 21 team that won the Leinster Championship and also earned an International Rules cap for Ireland.
In 1999 Parkinson won a Sigerson Cup medal with IT Tralee and a Laois Senior Football Championship title with Portlaoise.
Parkinson won Laois Senior Football Championship titles with Portlaoise again in 2002, 2004 (as captain) and 2007.

Colm Parkinson has a degree in Finance from IT Tralee.
Due to captain Laois in 2005, Parkinson instead opted to take a year out to travel Australia.
