Collette Roberts, (Born 1968) who sang under the stage name Collette, was an Australian model turned pop star during the late 1980s and early 1990s. She had a gold-selling #5 hit single in Australia in 1989 with Ring My Bell, an Anita Ward cover. Collette is now widely considered as being a one hit wonder in Australia with this track, although she had a handful of moderately successful follow-up singles. Collette became known for her bright fluorescent lycra clothing, notably her bike shorts, bras, and braces. In 1990 she appeared with a new image of short hair and black clothing in an attempt to cast aside the bike shorts image and for her music to be taken more seriously. Collette also appeared briefly as a character on Home and Away named Ysabel, as police constable Nick's date circa early 1991. After her second album and its singles yielded little commercial success, she retired from the music industry and pursued a career as a stylist and make-up artist. She appeared on Channel 7's "Where Are They Now?" in 2006, revealing that she now also does some volunteer work at Sydney's Taronga Zoo. Collette is a very successful hair & makeup artist who also appears in television commercials, photographic modelling and presenting on camera.
