Collective dialogue

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The act of engaging a community in a participatory and evolutionary conversation. The goal of a collective dialogue is to produce consensus in a group through efficient and iterative consideration of multiple viewpoints. Unlike mediation, which relies on a third party for guidance, or conciliation which assumes a need for compromise, collective dialogue seeks to dynamically incorporate diverse perspectives into a synthesized answer. This dialogue need not be verbal, and can be expressed through writing, physical action, music, or other communication channels.
