[edit] braided wire springs?
I have seen a number of coil-type springs made from two or more strands of wire braided together. Supposedly the advantage this confers is that the spring will be more resilient under sudden extreme shocks and less prone to breakage. I don't know how common they are or whether they're noteworthy enough to mention here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.41.40.21 (talk • contribs) 04:06, 29 April 2007
