A coin test is an outdoor diagnostic test which is performed for the diagnosis of conditions in which air has filled the pleural cavity (i.e. pneumothorax, hydropneumothorax). Two coins are tapped at the affected side and auscultate opposite side. It makes a tinkling sound if the conditions are there.
