Cogito, Inc. is a software company located in Draper, Utah, USA. The company offers business intelligence software for enterprises and agencies that provides "Relationship Analytics" capabilities.
The company was founded in 1994 by Dallas Noyes, whose objective was to develop knowledge based computing. The key breakthrough that the early Cogito team achieved was in the development and implementation of a "Graph Database" that enabled the representation of large scale Ontologies without degradation in performance. Three patents were awarded to Mr. Noyes (which he assigned to the company), defining the approach that remains the basis of the company's technology. The company's basic information representation technology is based on graph theory, and has proved general enough to support a move toward more general commercial offerings.
Cogito is privately held and backed by vSpring.
