I am the contributor of Coffee Roasting using a fluidized bed. I am responding to the proposed deletion of this article on advertisement grounds.
Coffee Roasting using a fluidized bed process is the only alternative to roasting coffee in a metal container while the beans are physically agitated by the movement of their container. i.e. drum roaster or Bedouin cooking pan for example. Hence, I am making the assumption that the first three sections would be acceptable for inclusion and are not thought advertisement.
This contribution deals with the inclusion of that portion of the article under the heading of practical application.
Firstly, I suggest that reference to the web site of the Patent’s author; Michael Sivetz’s is justified as a source of further information regarding the process.
Secondly, the reference to NEUHAUS NEOTEC is informative in showing how this process can scale up to roast tens of tons of coffee per hour. The contribution from this company can inform users how tons of coffee can be roasted simultaneously while the fluidized bed process assures that each bean is roasted in the same way as every other.
Finally, the reference to the coffee roasting implementation engineered by The Coffee Roaster Pty. Limited informs us how this process lends itself to computer automation which has now become accessible even to the very small boutique coffee roasting company. The computer control in combination with the fluidized bed process assure that small specialized batches of individual coffee blends can be roasted days apart while achieving consistent results. These are two disparate examples that illustrate the unique ability of the fluidized bed process to satisfy the very different requirements of large and small coffee roasting companies.
Please note that I have an illustration of the two fluidizing processes currently used for roasting coffee, which should be included in the first section. Also, please note the reference to a schematic in the NEUHAUS NEOTEC section and references to a picture and screen shot in The Coffee Roaster Pty. Limited section.
My new user limited skill set has prevented these contributions from being initially included in the original article. However, I believe the inclusion of this additional material will go some way to explaining the notable contribution made by the above two companies in illustrating the practical application of this process.
