Coeur d'Alene Avenue Elem. School is a public elementary school in the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, with 443 students in grades K-5. It is located at 810 Coeur d'Alene Ave., Venice, CA 90291. The phone number is (310) 821-7813. The school has a web site.
The school is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. The principal is Dr. Rex O. Patton, and the Asst. Principal is Maralyn Soifer.
All public schools in California test their students to arrive at an Academic Performance Index (API) score. California sets an API of 800 as the target for California public schools. Coeur d'Alene Ave. Elementary School scored 827 on the API in 2005 and scored 877 in 2006.
Ninety-six percent (96%) of the school's teachers have full California teaching credentials. Teachers at Coeur d'Alene have taught for an average of 11 years. The average class size for grades K-3 is slightly below 20 students per class. The average class size for grades 4 and 5 is slightly under 30 students per class.
The school feeds into Marina del Rey Middle School and Venice High School.
Coeur d'Alene was previously named Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School in the 1950s. It has since been renamed for the street location.
