Cody Johnson
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Outfielder John Cody Johnson was the first selection in the first round in the 2006 Atlanta Braves Draft. Johnson was born August 18, 1988. He is listed by the Braves as standing 6'4" and weighing 195 pounds. Johnson was assigned to the Gulf Coast Braves (Rookie League) upon signing with the Braves on June 7, 2006. In June 2007 the Atlanta Braves assigned Johnson to the Danville Braves in the Advanced Rookie Appalachian League. After struggling through his rookie season, Johnson showed his potential by hitting to the tune of a 1000+ OPS in A ball in 2007. Although many scouts question his hitting mechanics, his natural strength and athleticism should allow him to become a star.
