[edit] Summary

Description

Map of the Cochituate Aqueduct, west of Boston, Massachusetts, 1852. This appears to be only a partial map, as it does not extend all the way to Lake Cochituate at the west, which was the aqueduct's source. However, this is the majority of the aqueduct's route, and mapped only 4 years after its completion in 1848.

Source

Map entitled "Boston and vicinity", by F. G. Sidney and R. P. Smith, published by J. B. Shields of Boston, 1852. This scan is from the David Rumsey Map Collection, and has been cropped to remove extraneous terrain and digitally enhanced to emphasize the aqueduct's route.

Date

1852.

Author

F. G. Sidney and R. P. Smith.
