Cobblestone Historic District is a historic district that is also a National Historic Landmark. It includes three buildings: a First Universalist Church, the Ward House, and a District 5 Schoolhouse. These are distinctive for having been built from round rocks, known as cobblestones. [1]
The Cobblestone Historic District is located on Ridge Road (Route 104), in Childs, in Orleans County, New York.
Cobblestone architecture was developed in New York State to a high degree. A survey identified 660 cobblestone structures in 21 New York counties. There may be approximately 300 elsewhere in the United States, concentrated in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, and Vermont.[3]

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1993.[4]
