At grid reference TQ028770 in the centre of the north parapet of Colnbrook Bridge.

The upper stone gives a date of 1777 - presumably the construction of the bridge. Historically this bridge was on the boundary between Buckinghamshire and Middlesex. It was also the boundary of the Metropolitan Police District and hence the lower plate which is a Coal tax plate "Nail" Number 78. It is made of cast iron and is about 10 inches square.

This image at geograph shows the plate and a Coal Tax post which stands near it. The plate and the post were both erected in 1861.
