Coalition on Urban Renewal and Education
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Coalition on Urban Renewal and Education or CURE is an organization founded by Star Parker in 1995 to "jump start national dialogue on issues of race and poverty," according to their web site. It is based in Los Angeles, California. It focuses on personal freedom and personal responsibility as solutions to poverty, rather than welfare dependence. It is a social policy think tank that looks at issues of race and poverty and tries to come up with alternative answers to the "welfare state" that are faith based and market based.
They work with inner city pastors and legislators to "dismantle all the social engineering of the sixties so people can live free," according to CURE's founder, Star Parker.
