Club Colombia Masters

The Club Colombia Masters is a golf tournament on the European Challenge Tour first played in February 2007. It is played at the Country Club de Bogotá, in Bogotá, Colombia.
The first tournament was won by Edoardo Molinari from Italy. Molinari, the 2005 U.S. Amateur champion had just turned professional the year before and was trying to get on a tour when he was invited by the touramnet director German Calle to play in Bogotá. The Italian went into a thrilling duel in the final round with local crowd favorites Gustavo Mendoza and Camilo Bennedeti. At the end, Molinari won in playoff with Gustavo Mendoza with scores of 279 (-5), with Benedetti staying off by 2. For his first professional win, Molinari received €21,690 and his right to play on the European Challenge Tour which is the lower tier of the European Tour.
The tournament is organized by the Corporacion Internacioanal de Golf managed by German Calle and Jorge Munoz. With the great efforts of Jose Maria Rodriguez president of the Country Club de Bogotá and the Colombian government event became consider by many "the first of its kind in Colombia".
