[edit] Increased margin due to approval of her dual roles

I have made a minor change to the article to remove a statement that Ms Moore's improved margin in the 2007 election was due to public approval of her dual role as Lord Mayor and MP.

I don't believe it is possible to so definitively attribute the increased margin to this issue. Ms Moore's dual role has received some media coverage (though less in recent times), but it cannot be said to be the only isssue in Bligh/Sydney. The quality of other candidates,Ms Moore's work as a local MP and the mild boundary changes might also have an impact.

Also, the 2007 election saw an overall swing away from the ALP, but this did not always translate into a vote for the Liberals. Parts of Ms Moore's electorate are strongly Labor - some of these voters may have wished to cast a protest vote and did so by voting for Moore and not the Liberal candidate.

If there is reliable evidence that the swing was in fact solely due to the dual role issue and not any of the above, then by all means restore the sentence to the article. Euryalus 23:54, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pet sale ban proposal

I thought this was worth mentioning somewhere- http://www.smh.com.au/news/pets/no-more-doggy-in-the-window/2007/10/18/1192300991865.html Abort-O-Matic 5000 12:37, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Maybe see what happens with the bill. See if it gets passed law, or rejected without consequence.--Lester 02:50, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Propose deletion of unreferenced material

I propose that the unreferenced material in this article be deleted. Large sections are not referenced. The subject is famous enough to have ample references. I'm also not against 'Controversy' sections, but they must be referenced.Lester 05:48, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 'Lady Mayoress'

In London, "Lady Mayoress" is reserved for the female spouse of a (male) mayor, who is invariably Lord Mayor. If this is the case in Sydney, then the edits made are in error. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.173.133.4 (talk) 11:50, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
