Clifton-on-Trent railway station

Clifton on Trent railway station was a former railway station near North Clifton in Nottinghamshire. It was opened by the Lancashire, Derbyshire and East Coast Railway in March 1897 and closed by British Rail in 1955.[1]

It was actually midway between North Clifton and South Clifton, being at the eastern end of the Fledborough Viaduct where it crossed the River Trent.

From the station it was a short walk to the river, so it was popular with anglers.
