At the end of the 18th century, Clermont substitured a number of megaliths, correcly aligned Carnac between La Valade to the north and Le Verdier to the south. The locality known as Pierre Brunes (now Pierrebrune) had its existence. Several rock remains were exploited for the area in which is no longer in use today. Several modern historians in part of a great ancient commercial route between Vannes in Armorica and Marseille via Mende.
