Clean Slate by Fortres Grand Corporation is a "non-restrictive disk protection" piece of computer software.
[edit] Operating Systems
Clean Slate 5.0 is compatible with many versions of Microsoft's Windows including Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Vista. An older version, Clean Slate 3.0, is also compatible with Windows 98 and Windows Me.
Clean Slate is designed to protect public computers from malicious or inexperienced users, while maintaining an unrestrictive state. It will scour drives back to their original state upon reboot or log off. Clean Slate restores the computer to its original configuration discarding unwanted user changes: including erased files, installed software, downloaded spyware and adware, downloaded viruses and Trojan horses, and altered icons. In addition to drive protection, Clean Slate also allows administrators to block unwanted programs from launching.
Unlike competitors such as Deep Freeze (software) however, Clean Slate does not require a reboot to restore. It also allows administrators to choose changes to become permanent. Clean Slate automatically allows Windows updates and anti-virus signiture updates.
Large Networks of Clean Slate computers can easily be administrated using Fortres Grand [[1]Central Control.
