History

The club was formed by a group of Oldham Athletic fans in early March 2005, who wanted to do another type of sporting activity while not watching the team they support. On 17 March 2005, they had their first competative match, a friendly against another local six a side football team. Coming out worthy winners the future looked bright for the quickly growing side.

Proving to be popular amongst Oldham Athletic fans, the Claytonians had over 20 supporters turning up for training wanting to play football, so after a lot thought two teams were formed. Within a month of so of starting the club, co-founder Ian McAlister had got the team into the Kaskenmoor League. A few weeks later another team was added into the Royton and Crompton League.

As of 14 June 2005, Lee Clough is the current captain of the Royton Claytonians and Sean Hansford is currently captain of the Kaskenmoor Claytonians.
