[edit] World Cup?

Having delved into the UCI's pitiful archive, which gives details from 1998, and finding information from cyclingnews for 1996-7, I can't find any reference to this race as a World Cup race The cyclingnews 1997 UCI calender marks it as a 1.1 category race - the highest after World Cup in those days. I can't find the information from 1989 to 1994 though and the World Cup was fairly fluid in those years... SeveroTC 19:47, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Having said that I've never found a definitive list of the world cup races in the early 90s. I have electronic access to past newspapers so am trying to find information in L'Equipe but I'm struggling due to my lack of French... SeveroTC 21:15, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
I've only found references in french wikipedia(showing that Classique des Alpes was not part of it) but the article doesn't cite sources. Memoire du cyclisme is useful again URL. Just change the year in the urlDrunt 21:31, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
