[edit] Mill pond powered Grays Ferry?

Clark Park is to the west of the Schyukill River. Grays Ferry, according to its Wikipedia entry, is to the east of the river. Therefore, I think the note in this piece about the mill pond powering factories in Grays Ferry must be in error. Can anyone clarify the situation? PRRfan 15:50, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

  • It's not about east-west, it's about elevation. --evrik (talk) 17:23, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
    • It's about which side of the river things are on. You can't have a mill pond on the west bank of the river powering a factory on the east bank -- unless you've got a ton of elevation and an aqueduct across the Schuykill. PRRfan 04:11, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Ummm... Gray's Ferry spans the river ... --evrik (talk) 01:12, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
