Burns, Clarence H. (1918-2003) — also known as Du Burns — of Baltimore, Md. Born September 17, 1918. Democrat. Mayor of Baltimore, Md., 1987; defeated, 1987, 1991. Black. First black mayor of Baltimore. Died in Baltimore, Md., January 12, 2003. Interment at New Cathedral Cemetery, Baltimore, Md.
