The EE website lists her as Bates - can anyone shed any light on her true surname? -Trampikey^{(talk)(contribs)} 00:32, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Nigel was given legal custody of Clare in Nov or dec 1995. She probably changed her name to Bates or maybe he adopted her, but I dont know for sure. All the books refer to her as Bates. Gungadin 17:52, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Dot mentioned him briefly, I noticed Dot had some old promo EE pics of Clare and Nigel out and she was passing them off as random pics in her scrap book, but that's about it.Gung adin 23:20, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Yeh, I saw her in the pub with Chelsea and oddly she was on first name terms with Ronnie Mitchell! Phil and Peggy were both there, neither acknowledged her. You'd think they'd at least show scenes of them asking after Nigel.Gung adin 23:41, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

I noticed that she hasn't interacted with Phil and Peggy, but it was Grant who Nigel was best mates with, so maybe P+P aren't that arsed about Clare... Also, I hate it when they use promos in the show - Peggy's front room has loads - especially of Grant and a baby Courtney and Phil and baby Ben. Also, when Johnny got jailed they used a promo of Dennis on the front of the Walford Gazette, and the same when Joe Macer died. -Trampikey^{(talk)(contribs)} 00:31, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
